Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.

My daughter, Ameera, is a 3 year old Autistic child, who has shown all these unique strengths, characteristics, and much more. At a very young age, Ameera has endured many challenges. From being born prematurely to seizures at 2 weeks old, blow in the heart, and many other; she has proven to be a warrior.

Ameera was diagnosed with Autism at 18 months. I, mom, have gone through every welcoming service that has been offered to guarantee that she thrives at her full potential. She has been to countless doctors , specialists, therapist, psychologists, and many centers. With all the help from family and the autism community, she has flourished. She is bright, loving, and the most caring person. Those who know her, understand the power her spirit holds. 

For this reason, we proudly walk with our community. This is why our team name is ‘I AM ME’ As these children and people, are simply them. They’re not any different, than you and I. We are one.
