As an SLP and a parent, I see how isolating the autism journey can be. Families need friendship, acceptance, and community.
My amazing son is 8. He is curious, creative, and passionate about the things he loves?figuring out how electronics work, building with electronics, and fire alarms. He inspires and teaches me every day. Like so many parents, my greatest hope is that he finds his place in this world, surrounded by true connection and acceptance.
The walk is a day where families like ours don?t have to mask, hide, or explain. We can come together fully as ourselves. I walk for him and for every autistic person, to remind them they are seen, valued, and celebrated just as they are. ?
