In May of last year, our son Maverick was diagnosed with autism. While we felt prepared to hear those words, the emotions that followed were overwhelming. We knew then, and we know now, that no diagnosis could ever change the fact that Maverick is the same amazing child we have always loved.

The road to that diagnosis was not easy. At times we felt lost, searching for answers and support. What made the difference for us was community-family, friends, and the resources we were fortunate enough to find through support groups and organizations like Autism Speaks. That support reminded us that we weren't alone, and it gave us strength during those early days of uncertainty.

Now, more than a year later, Maverick has blown every expectation we had. He is thriving. Through therapy, resources, and the love that surrounds him, he continues to show us just how bright, strong, and unique he is. Watching him grow has been the most inspiring journey of our lives.
