Team Cody

Hello this is Shelbi, the happy little captain/spokesperson for this amazing team! As many of people have known Cody, my not-so little brother, has autism. His autism has never defined him, but rather has inspired many of those who have been touched his vibrant personality. Whether it be through stopping in a middle of a race to wave and blow kisses to his adoring fans or dancing to the front of a gymnasium to accept an award, Cody always has a way to reminding people to seize every moment that life brings.

For the past 3 years, our family has walked in this event and with your support has raised thousands of dollars in support of Autism Speaks. Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of people with autism and their families through advocacy, support, education, and funding research efforts. We have participated in this event each year not only to raise awareness (and let's be honest to have a little fun) but to also help fund essential services and research that support those in the autism community.

This year we are hoping to achieve our fundraising goal of $2,000. This may be the most we have ever raised. I know we can do it, but that means we need your support more than ever! We will be holding two fundraisers this year: Our t-shirt fundraiser that will feature our 2021 team logo, and (since it was such a hit) our homemade cookie fundraiser!

This year's walk on wheels event is set to take place 9/12/2021 at Idlewild Park.

We would love to see you there!
