Hi, community!
Matt and I are proud parents to our precious son, Jax. Jax is a 6 year old little boy who has severe nonverbal autism. He loves his family (especially his 3 year old little brother, Tatum and newborn sister, Elliott), swimming, and playing outside on his trampoline! He was born with more challenges than we could have ever imagined, but with the help of early intervention and unwavering determination he is constantly reaching new milestones and making us so proud.
Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them have unique strengths, challenges and potential. No one anticipates having a child with special needs, but once Matt and I accepted Jax's reality we knew that we wanted to be a part of a meaningful organization. Autism Speaks supports research to improve the lives of people with autism by investing in science that will allow more personalized treatments and therapies. Additionally, the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team makes direct contact with tens of thousands of individuals looking for advice or guidance. To date, more than one million people have accessed their free nationwide autism services and resources. You can find out even more about where your fundraising dollars go at autismspeaks.org/our-work.
Please join Matt and me by donating to help reach our fundraising goal. Together we have the power to enhance the lives of people with autism and make a meaningful difference. Autism research is so vital and directly impacts our family - your donation no matter how large or small means so much! We thank you and appreciate your support year after year.
