2018 Autism Speaks Georgia 5k Race Route

Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot next to Park Tavern, 10th Street and surrounding neighborhoods, and the parking deck. Event participants are responsible for their own parking fees.

During the Race: Autism Speaks information table, t-shirt table and vendor tables will remain open during the race. Spectators are welcome to sit along the grass to cheer on runners but for safety reasons, please do not enter the race route. Chairs & blankets are permitted. 

Registration Information: Online registration will close at 8PM, EST on Friday, November 12th. Day of registration is available via cash, credit card  and check. 

2021 Local Shirt and MedalEntry Fees:

June 1 - June 30th 

  • Runner: $25 - Performance t-shirt, finisher medal + chip timed race bib
  • Virtual Runner: $35 - Performance t-shirt only – no day of participation

July 1 - September 30th 

  • Runner: $35 - Performance t-shirt, finisher medal + chip timed race bib
  • Virtual Runner: $35 - Performance t-shirt only – no day of participation

October 1st - November 12th*

  • Runner: $45 - Chip timed race bib
  • Virtual Runner: $35

November 13th*

  • Runner: $50 - Chip timed race bib

*Performance T-shirt & finisher medal will be mailed after event date if registration is after October 1st, 2021.*

Virtual 5K: We encourage runners and walkers who can’t be with us at Piedmont Park, GA on Saturday, November 13th to compete and/or participate in our “Virtual 5k”. Virtual runners must register via the website and will receive their performance shirt in advance (if registered prior to October 1, 2021 otherwise, will be mailed post event) to join us virtually on November 13th. You can run and raise money for autism anywhere! Virtual runners are encouraged to snap a photo in their t-shirt with run location and e-mail to Georgia@autismspeaks.org, post to our Facebook wall and/or tweet @autismspeaksga

Virtual Runners : All t-shirts will be mailed USPS to the address associated with the registration. Autism Speaks will not be responsible for lost t-shirts or incorrect addresses.

Packet pick-up locations and times: Race bibs and participant shirts will be available to pickup on race morning. Finisher medals will be received at the finish line post race.

Prohibited: For safety reasons, the following are not permitted in the 5K: skates, bikes, motorized scooters, pets (non-service animals). We ask that those who wish to participate with wheelchairs, strollers, bike joggers to start near the back of the 5K race. 

Course: The 5K course runs through beautiful Piedmont Park with minimal grade hills. Water will be available at the start/finish and the half-way point. This course is USATF certified: GA19038WC / GA19039WC.

Timing & Results: Provided by Orion Timing using disposable B-tag timing technology. Race results will be posted on the results page of the event website after the completion of the Georgia 5K. 

Awards: Awards will be given to the top 3 overall male & female runners

Race times will be announced for overall winners onsite. Awards directly to follow completion of the race.

Teams: Teams take on the spirit of the day as family, friends and coworkers join together to have fun and help raise awareness for autism. Organize your friends, family, schools, place of worship, community organization or get your company involved! Choose a team name and captain or co-captain. Each team member (adult and child) is asked to set a minimum fundraising goal, but we always encourage more!

Collecting Donations: Donations can be made directly to your personal fundraising page or checks can be made to Autism Speaks and mailed to PO Box 199, Rocky Hill, NJ 08553 in memo - your name & Georgia 5k. All participants can collect donations in advance and bring to the Georgia 5K on race morning! Checks, cash, and credit card donations are accepted.
